By performing the Maintenance Requirement Analysis (MRA), maintenance requirement for the system can be evaluated by considering the reliability, availability and safety integrity of that system.

The MRA also provides a planned preventive maintenance schedule from the findings and conclusion of the MRA worksheets. It also can form a part of the Maintenance Plan.
